i didn't get as much done today as planned but i did some research. flash, toon boom studio and animo seem to be the industry standard software for 2d digital animation, often mixed with after effects for special effects. i love the brazilian animation darragh posted the link to, perhaps we could incorporate its visible puppeteer idea by having a human hand set the opening scene, ie have a live action hand arrange the 2d stuff in the frame? the hand would go when the animation starts. kinda like the spar ads on tv i suppose. just an idea anyway....i'm going to bed, i'm wrecked. see you tomorrow. ps here are some rough faces, the one in the top right is my favourite.
